Bittersweet Junction by Ivy Sinclair – New Release!!!

BittersweetJunctionCoverThis was such a great story!  I was given the chance to beta read Bittersweet Junction and I was hooked from the beginning…..I mean the visuals that Ivy Sinclair created are fantastic!

Here is the book’s description (taken from Goodreads):

Best friends once, lovers never, yet an attraction that can’t be ignored.

Five years ago, Julia Bell walked away from her life the moment her high school diploma was in her hand. She left her family and friends behind to start over and escape the chokehold of small town life in Benton Hill. But an urgent call from her little sister brings Julia back to her hometown wholly unprepared for what awaits her.

Ben Miller was always the nice guy. Just before high school graduation, he stepped out of that role hoping to capture the heart of the woman he loved. Instead, in quick succession he lost the girl, and the future he worked so hard to achieve.

Even though Julia and Ben are drawn to each other, echoes of the past block them at every turn. Secrets are exposed, and reality needs to be dealt with if they can ever hope to move past the bittersweet junction that ripped them apart.

The first line of the story had me picturing all sorts of comical things (does this silo exist Ivy Sinclair?  I feel like I have seen it before….).

“As she passed the tall single silo with the smiley face on it, she felt as if it taunted her.”

This other small passage was something fun and gives you a peek into the characters and how well they know each other.

Julia crossed her arms. “I’m not staying. You’re not going to change my mind on that. This is a train wreck waiting to happen.”

Ben shrugged and tried another tack. “Your dad won’t be home until later, and I’m sure you want to see him before you go. You drove all this way. It looks to me like your options are going back inside to hang out with your sister, or taking a ride with me.”

It worked like a charm. Julia was inside his car ten seconds later. “I’m never speaking to Clary again,” she said sullenly.

Ben didn’t hesitate to hit the gas. He glanced over at Julia and saw that she was deep in thought staring out the window. It struck him again by how lovely she looked with her hair curled around her shoulders framing her pale skin. Ben gulped and turned his eyes back to the road.

“I need a drink,” Julia declared.

Ben grinned. That was something he could do and would keep him out of trouble with Maggie. Double bonus. “That I can help with.”

This book had me so enthralled I was practically hyperventilating with Julia, as well as feeling the anger, joy, sadness, and finally the ever elusive PEACE.  Julia is hit time and time again in the beginning of the story and it is so wonderful to watch her reach inside and pull it together.  You will laugh, roll your eyes, and maybe even cry a little, but I guarantee you won’t regret reading this beautiful story!!
